Violinist Darin Qualls, winner of the prestigious Starling Foundation Prize, in collaboration with pianist Cary Lewis, of the highly acclaimed Lanier Trio, will perform Bach's B minor Sonata, Edvard Grieg's Sonata op.8 in F major, Karol Szymanowski's Myths, and Gabriel Faure's G major sonata. Darin Qualls is a prep and PYP alumnus and will be giving a recital in May. He'll be playing in collaboration with pianist Cary Lewis at The Old Church on May 10th and 17th, 2008. Since leaving PYP, Darin went to school at the Cincinnati College Conservatory to study with Dorothy DeLay. Following school he played for a time in the New World Symphony in Florida, then took a position with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, and later the Ndls Radio Phil. At the moment, Darin is living in Singapore and is playing chamber music concerts with pianist Lim Yan.
