Duties and responsibilities

The Portland Youth Philharmonic String Specialist should be a musician of the highest caliber with practical experience teaching young string players aged 7-12 years old. The qualified applicant will serve as the conductor/teacher of the Young String Ensemble, the staff string specialist, and chamber music coach for one string ensemble. Regular weekly Young String Ensemble rehearsals occur Wednesday evenings from 5:30 – 7:30 PM ; Chamber Music rehearses Saturday evenings from 2 PM – 4 PM at Glencoe Elementary School located at 51 st and SE Belmont . Contract term: September – May.
